7 things I bring on the go

The backpack. Gotten it from a local bag peripherals store. Rugged look with just enough compartments for my to house all my belongings. Zippers are always smooth and have never been stuck. Perfect for the on-the-go me.

Communications. One for the civilian me. The other for the regimental work use. Pretty much average phones for every day uses. Reason I need 2 cell phones. One has a built in camera lens while the other doesn’t. My workplace forbids camera cells.

The shades. It’s a cheap shades that my sis have gotten for me when she went overseas because I whine that I don’t have a proper one. Nice and comfy and just enough to protect my eyes in sunny Singapore.

The player. The Zen 2GB. Decided to get it because I lack a proper MP3 player ever since my iPod Mini broke down. Also, it acts as a substitute for the future iPod touch I am planning to get. Pro iPod user here. It’s small in size (just about a size of a credit card) but packs a punch in music quality. The more then sufficient 2GB capacity is good enough for me because I always load up the player with about 150+ songs and 0 videos. Protected in official Creative acrylic casing.

Would you choose the white or the black lighter? Lighters are a must on the go. At least for a smoker.

SBA-290. The portable music system on the go by Phillips. Ultra slim body with it’s dynamic bass boost, incredible surround as well as XSL acoustics. Simply love it’s piano black version which I chose over the pear white one. Runs on AAA batteries so it wouldn’t eat into the battery power of my player.

The portable entertainment system. My beloved PSP Slim. For videos, games and also as a portable wi-fi platform. Equipped with a 4GB Sandisk memory stick, sufficient for my use. 8GB seems to be a little on the overkill side. Protected by a Logitech hardcase for hard knocks what god knows what else.

The Sennheiser HD212 Pro. Music is my life. Enchanced quality music is what makes a difference in my life. With noise-cancelling feature to block out pollutants such as baby cries, vehicles as well as gossiping middle aged women. It is a must feature for music on the go. Total comfort where it sits around your ears instead of surrounding it. Being everything clear, crisp and bassy and I do mean very bassy. Totally in love.

My 5 month old son only wants to be with me at night. Last time he went to spend the night at my husband’s parents house he cried and wouldn’t stop and we ended up having to go get him. He will be spending the night there again tomorrow night. My husband and I will be going out with friends and I don’t want to be interupted by his parents calling us telling us to come get him. We are going to Mexico at the end of the month for a week, and I want him to get used to being with someone else at night besides me. What are some good tips and tricks to calm a crying baby, aside from the obvious (feeding, changing, rocking, singing, etc.)? My mother-in-law found that running water seems to work. Any other ideas so I don’t have to come and get him tomorrow night? Thanks a bunch!

I’ve always found that gently stroking the forehead does the trick. My children always fall right asleep when I do that. It also works when my sister-in-law or their grandparents do it. Try it out and see what happens. It’s worth a shot, right?

I wanna knowthe name of a song by Steve Vai (or maybe it’s by Joe Satriani, I’m not sure got confused!!) in which has some effects at the beginning of the song like a baby sound. I’ve heard it before I just don’t remember it and can’t find it in my collection too!

Before you leave give the baby one of your shirts that has a perfume smell you usually wear on it and give it to her. She’ll smell Mommy and will calm down. As for your neighbor explain to him no one is hurting the baby, she just wants Mommy. If he still calls the cops when your baby cries, I suggest you move to a different part of the condo.

Make a list of all the baby names you and your partner like. Write down any name that catches your eye or that pleases you. The list may be a long one, but you will start to narrow down what you like in a name and what you don’t.

Cross off any names that don’t seem to be a good fit or that just don’t click, even though you may have liked them at first. If there are names that come to mind over time, add them to your list.

Look at all types of names. There are popular name choices, celebrity names, those from history, names that reflect a culture or a people, names based on nature or religion… The choices are endless, truly. If you find that you prefer Scottish names, delve deeper for choices. If you like natural-sound names like River or Rain, feel free to explore those selections.
