Why does my baby sister stop crying when i fake cry with her?

Okay my li sis is about 2 years old. Since she was just months old she would stop crying whenever i stared to fake cry with her. it’s this weird thing i tried just to get her to stop crying but it works 100% of the time… unless she’s hurt,of course. And i mean her response is automatic; she looks at me crying and just stops..sometimes she giggles. Why does she do this?
