My sisters new baby girl (1 week old) cries every night starting at around 10 p.m. and continues non stop until around 3 a.m. Nothing seems to aleviate this. They have switched formula to the hypoallergenic variety and are at their wits end. Nothing seems to comfort her and she cries so hard that she turns purple. Any suggestions on what this may be due to or ways to treat it…will choose best answer
breast feeding is not an option as she suffers from inverted nipples…she tried and was unsuccessful

My toddler is about to have a new sister in a month and a half and he is terrified when he hears babies cry whether it be on tv or in the store or a friend’s baby? I am really getting worried. I always tell him that they are ok, and that sometimes babies cry when they are tired, hungry, sleepy etc. and sometimes I ask how can we help them ( bring a toy, change a diaper, get a bottle etc.) Has anyone else had this problem? Any adjusting tips?

I have a 18 month old and a newborn. The newborn is sleeping in our room right now, but will soon be sleeping in her room which is right next to my 18 month old. I am worried that when she wakes up and cries when she wants to eat at night, my 18 month old will wake up too, he is a pretty light sleeper. If he does, what do you think is the best way to deal with it. My 18 month old is very empathetic and is always wanting to make sure that his little sister is okay.

She has always been sensitive to children screaming so we know its not just about the new baby and jealousy. Life has become difficult as it is hard to stop our newborn from crying. She is usually OK if comforted but if she is in the room by herself and the baby starts crying she goes berserk. Has anyone else had this problem?
